When you think of Grant High School and it is impossible not to think of Mike Alberghini. He has led the football program at the school for the past 28 years and has been in the school district for the past 50.  His life is so tied to the school that they named the football stadium after him.  Mike has also served as a baseball coach and athletic director not to mention coaching several other sports during his time in Del Paso Heights.  

His teams have been some of the best ever in the history of Sacramento prep football.  Under his guidance, the Pacers have made the playoffs 25 times and won 18 league titles.  In 2008 they were crowned the California State Champs.  He has been a mentor to thousands of kids and many of those have gone on to play in college and professionally.  He has stayed true to his roots and continues to be a vital part of the Grant community.
