Jeff was the 5th overall draft choice in the first round for the Atlanta Braves in 1984.  He went on to play 10 seasons with the Braves winning a World Series Championship in 1995 and being named a MLB All-Star twice; once in 1993 than again in 1997.  He added a Silver Slugger Award in 1997 making him one of the most powerful shortstops in the Major Leagues.


After the 1999 season with the Chicago Cubs, Jeff retired with a lifetime batting average of .262.  He also ended his career with 122 home runs and 513 runs batted in.  He later managed the Mississippi Braves, the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves in 2006.
