Jaime had long and successful track and field career becoming one of the elite High Jumpers in the world. A Valley High graduate in 1994, he then attended Sacramento City College for one year before transferring to Eastern Michigan. It was there he made a name for himself as a 3-Time All American and school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He is a 3-Time USA Outdoor Champion and the 2004 Indoor title holder.
He won the US Olympic Trials in 2004 and competed for Team USA in the Olympic Games of Athens. Jamie finished just out of medal contention with a respectable 4th place finish. Jamie's amazing career was highlighted by having six of the top eight clearances of any American that year.
In 2014-15 he coached the USATF Junior National Champion and two NCAA national performers at USC. In 2016, Jamie suffered a tragic accident where he became paralyzed. Through much rehab and support, he has fought his way back to lead a productive life and was recently married. His emotional and uplifting story has been chronicled by ESPN and other media outlets. Jamie continues to improve his mobility and embaraces his life.
