There are very few coaches in the world than can match Guy Anderson’s accomplishments.  He coached 45 years at one school and has seen it all.  He was there at a time when the school was relatively new, then he built teams that were considered the best the area ever saw.  He also went through plenty of rough years when enrollment was down and athletes were different.  He persevered and became the all- time winningest coach in section and state history.  His Lancers teams won five section titles and during the 70’s 80’s and 90’s the program was loaded with talent.  He developed numerous players that went to fabulous careers in the Major Leagues Baseball.

 

Guy Anderson was a hard-nosed leader that defied the odds and loved the game of baseball.  He dedicated his life to the game and his school.  His players enjoyed playing for him while learning valuable life lessons.  Guy was truly a legendary coach and fixture in the Cordova community.
