Eason was one of the top Tight Ends to come from the Sacramento area. He was an All-City selection from Christian Brothers High School. He was a dynamic pass catcher with speed and size that translated well to the college and NFL game. He played collegiately at Washington State before being selected in the 12th round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
After spending one year with the Cardinals, he found his most success playing for his childhood favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers. Eason was one big part of the 49ers success and was part of the Niners Super Bowl winning team in 1982. He had 104 receptions for 983 yards with 5 touchdowns.
After his playing days, Eason became a motivational speaker detailing his life as a player and overcoming drug addiction. He turned his life around and was the director at the Bayview YMCA in San Francisco and a director for the C.A.R.E. Program.
