Brian comes from athletic family as both his father and uncle played minor league baseball. His athleticism carried him to track where he was a tremendous sprinter. He became passionate about the sport after he graduated from Highlands High School in 1993. He then attended Blinn Junior College for a year before transferring to Norfolk State in Virginia.
In 1999 he was part of 4x100m relay team that won the gold medal at the US National Championships. The highlight of his career came the following year as he ran the third leg of the gold medal winning 4 x 100m relay team in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Brian had many close finishes throughout his career finishing 2nd and 3rd at various world competitions. Brian currently lives in Portsmouth, Virginia but still considers Sacramento his hometown.
